Redesigning a photography conference website

NSC WEBSITE REDESIGN

My roles:  UX/UI Designer, Information Architect, Visual Designer

My contributions & impact:
I transformed the Northern Short Course website by rethinking the style choices and restructuring the navigation for a simpler user experience including carousels, refreshed typography, a vibrant color palette, and more photography. I highlighted event photography and created downloadable resources (schedules, travel guides) to streamline attendee experience. I also delivered a style guide and Figma prototype to the client to ensure brand consistency.

The Challenge: How might I transform a content-heavy event website into an intuitive platform that helps users immediately find essential event information while celebrating the art of photography?

The Outcome: A clear, inviting homepage that answers the attendee questions at a first glance. The new visual system, anchored by vibrant photography and a distinctive type palette, elevates the event’s identity and improves user engagement. The streamlined navigation and downloadable resources empower participants to plan their experience with ease. The style guide and prototype enable the client to maintain a cohesive digital presence moving forward. The result is a site that not only informs but also inspires, reflecting the creativity and professionalism of the Northern Short Course community.
